Designing a birthday list you actually open
Countdowns, colors and the small green signal that tells you a gift is sorted.
The main screen of Cake is a list sorted by the next birthday. Every row shows a name, the date, the age the person is turning and the number of days left. That number is the largest thing in the row, because it answers the question you open the app with.
Color as status
Rows start with a pink cake. Once you add a gift idea, the row turns green and the cake becomes a gift. You can scan the list and see who is still open without reading a word.
Groups show up as a thin ring around the icon. If someone is in Family and Friends, the ring splits into two colored segments.
