2 · Privacy Policy
Cake has no user accounts and no server of ours. We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising, neither in the app nor on this website. The controller under the GDPR is the operator named in the imprint.
Data on your device
With your permission, Cake reads birthdays from your Contacts and Calendar. Gift ideas, saved greetings and groups are stored locally on your iPhone. Reminders are scheduled locally as notifications. When you send a greeting, it is handed to the messaging app you choose; we never receive it.
AI model download
AI greetings use a language model that runs on your device. On first use, Cake downloads the model (about 1 GB) once from Hugging Face. During this download your IP address and technical request data are transmitted to Hugging Face, Inc. No contact data is sent. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. After the download, greetings are generated offline.
This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data (for example browser type and time of access) to deliver the page and to protect it against attacks. This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads its fonts from its own server. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in delivering the website securely and reliably. Data may be processed in the USA; Cloudflare participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Deleting Cake removes all data the app stored on your device.

No. Cake prepares the greeting and reminds you on the day. You confirm before anything is sent.
That is the on-device language model for AI greetings. It is downloaded once, only if you use the feature.
